An Article’s Category

For this blog article, the category is determined by the directory the source file is located in. The meta data extracted from the file name can be configured freely.

You are not restricted to only one category per article. In fact, the number of categories is not limited. However, if an article should be included in more than one category, it is best to define the categories in the meta data in the source file, please see this article for details.

Article URLs

The URLs of all pages can be configured freely. In this example, single article URLs are configured like this:

'<categories/0>/<slug>.html'

This will use the article’s first category as directory name, and the article slug (which is usually set to the source file’s basename) as the file name (followed by the .html extension). If the article is not included in any category, it will be placed directly in the output folder (output).
